Thousands of Skyscrapers require façade maintenance. Traditionally, human labour is employed to clean, inspect, and repair those buildings.
Normally, workers ride on a working platform, called “Gondola” to carry the services.
It is high risk to provide building façade maintenance at height.

This is a Brand New Patented Design (AI-SWP) which revolutionize the current SWP with advanced safety measures through the application of AI and IoT.
With the previous patented gondola inspiration, namely "A WORKING PLATFORM AND A SYSTEM FOR MONITORING A WORKING PLATFORM" (HK short term patent No: 30063292), we designed a new robot with wall climbing function to completely replace human work on cleaning and inspection of skyscrapers. And I did successfully apply Patent Application Grant (PG/027/24) to get fund for patent it in China and US.
In terms of hardware and software development, we are designing our own spider-liked climbing robot, micro-suction system, re-defining climbing protocol, safety procedure and AI with micro-controller etc.
The first development was a patented smart gondola for lift services and construction site. It serves the purpose of risk and cost reduction, and improve the work quality. In 2022, we did success to get Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF) and CityU funding. The project reached the goal, but the major drawback of this method is it still required human workers to do the job!
With the above smart gondola inspiration, we develop a solution with robot to completely replace human involvement in facade cleaning and inspection for skyscrapers. We believe it is an ultimate solution to cut off labour accident, direct reduce insurance and structural service fee, and fully control the work quality with real time monitoring. In addition, taking the advantage of robot is capable to collect large amount of building data, we could use AI to predict the building degradation rate and then provide preventive maintenance solution.
Product:- A wall climbing robot with 6 suction-legs (like a spider) has been patented and under development. It can walk around the building surface and avoid obstacle to wash facade with cleaning water, cleaning roller, jet gun, dry-ice, ultrasonic and laser. The robot is also able to inspect the building surface by equipping high-definition camera, caulking test the rubber elasticity, water jet for leaking, electric scanner for material deterioration and chemical analysis, etc.
Services:- we program the robot to perform cleaning service and building inspection services for many different kind of building facade. After we collect the whole building data with some time period, an inspection report with defect list is generated to the building management. In addition, when we collect enough data, we can train up the AI to create facade deterioration forecast, and then the preventive maintenance solution. It is valuable for building management.
